The Inculcation of Energy Ethics as Principle of Energy Industries Sustainable Development[1]

Life of energy’s groove can’t be apart from upstream activities which focused to crude oil exploration and production. Upstream sector handle important role in energy availability which capable to be produced and account for foreign exchange. Upstream sector also unable leave one of management component which was human resources procurement. The resources that will absorbable as employee and become oil and gas industries life mover gear.



However, those resources constitute selected resources and competent in their scope because company be required to fulfill;
-                 The adequacy of material – money, residence, also private vehicle.
-                 The adequacy of immaterial – felling of safety, ease of access, also transparation of information.
-                 Satisfaction from the work and result which able to proud of.
The fulfillment of the adequacy boost employee to work optimal with whole owned knowledge and experience. Those skill not born instantly, but through kowledge exercising and various demands from formal pupillage in productive age. Then the impact of not proper education pattern will potentially give normative satisfaction to them, such as ekspoilative paradigm, limitless private pleasure, and no responsibility.
Even human will be born with antroposentric comprehension and gift to had political soul, but it is necessary to have an effort to decrease that bad impact. Energy ethics not so well known, moreover as a concept to human awareness from exaggerated production and consumption energy as well. Energy ethics which born from downstream sector where people understand that unlimited energy consumption take big effect to next generation dependency in future. Nevertheless, the rolling energy’s groove at energy industries needs toward human resources forced which will absorb resouce become their employee have awareness to energy ethics. The ethics which give guidance to human how to develop energy properly. Biding whole other component from sustainable development and drive companies to able to accomodate those resources intelectuall potency.
Resources have been selected and have competency which has equipped with energy ethics comprehension and companies support to not making them as ordinary worker. That employee not longer considered as physic and mental worker only, but also give contribution for environtment and social. The contribution to environtment and social that can be given among others;
-                 Prevention of oil stealing from surrounding community.
-                 Become conflict negotiator between company and community.
-                 Humanization work environtment.
It can be explained as palpable that energy ethics not only raised the issue of exaggerated exploitated, but also how to humanization company and whole device and assets inside it. Sustainability concept which added in development word has wide meaning and have to be understood in holistic way not only partially. Cited concept explanation from principle of sustainable development (keraf, 2010; 200 - 208) which explains values contained inside, there are many lack that have to be covered especially in developing countries. In sustainable development principal there are three points namely democracy, justice, and sustainable. Each in those principle reflect mandatory ability which every company in oli and gas industries have and boost creation of sustainable developing.
Democracy principle encourage company to want open public aspiration bibcock, transparency, and also acces to information which support company openess to community. Subscription from these principle is company seeded from public support against asset management which transparent and favorable acamedics and community.

Justice principle is development of company’s human resources. Related to fairness, closing gap between employee and soluting vertical conflict. Justice principle implementation in companies life will give trust and loyality from employee over every single company taken policy, also diminish advocacy in order to minimize friction with employee interest.
Sustainable principle is maximum effort which must company had, in related with visioner activity, valuation positive and negative effect from every single company decision and also find alternative and solution from every impasse. Effect which given were company will go balance and have correct forecast ability to be able to get trust from stakeholder.

Energy ethics and sustainable development will appear in human productive age, when they received their formal education. With the presence of sustainability and importance of ethics in young generation mindset growth, their contribution can be optimize with;
1.              Awareness of energy existence.
These awareness no longer about oil and gas industry, but also to wake the high potency in renewable energy which cheaper and still under develop. By the creativity of youth generation, they will create manipualtion of energy existence in information and education to the wider community, so people will understand their movement and begin to support them effort.
2.              Energy ethics education.
Even the ethics itself still rare to be understanded by people nowaday, of course beacuse degradation level of social dan local wisdom already reach dangerous degree. But, we have to protect our believe in education power, however from formal education that student could reach their basic information, then they will practice it on their neighborhood. Ethics not about how book teach human to be human, but it’s about how human teach human to be human by their social aspect.
3.              Guidance to the profession for sustainable oil and gas indutries.
To clear their part to become an employee of oil and gas industries, we need to show how make the industry going sustain, not technically, but humane. They have to realize how their skill from formal eduaction can be used optimum not only to generate the industry gear, buat also educate, gathering social emphasis, and to bring effective solution in internal conflict of industries.
These effort performed as maximum effort in optimizing young generation which their existence faded to black these day. It can be done today or tomorrow, but we can start it right now, to think and make movement step by step, so we got an inch today and a mile by tommorow, therefore, je pense donc je suis (i think, then i existed).

  1. good.., this articel provides a term that never been thought before in energy . It is energy ethic, I think it is like a based of energy industry. Ethic energy determines some aspect of energy and indirectly also determines the way of life of humans.
